On earth, it is easy to focus on the physical realm, the desires of our hearts, and whatever we want. As we should right? This is the realm we see with our naked eye. Since we are in our physical form, (our body), it is natural for us to want the things of this world. The thing is, this is our temporary home – just like these are our temporary bodies. We can achieve our earthly desires, but we must remember that Heaven is the end goal. The real reward is heaven.
When I was operating solely of my flesh, there weren’t many times heaven crossed my mind. It wasn’t until I began this walk that I realized Heaven is more important. See, our flesh will perish but our souls will live on forever. It is vital to learn the importance of the spirit.
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.” (Romans 8:5-12)

Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, Nor has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Prohibition From Heaven
I made a blog about what will prevent you from entering Heaven if you don’t repent. I highly recommend that you read it. You can check it out here. Afterward, you can ask God for forgiveness, repent, and turn from all wickedness and sin. Another verse about not being able to inherit the kingdom of heaven is in Matthew 18:3-4. “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
The verse in Matthew lets us know that we have to come to God as children (in a lowly position). We must humble ourselves. Humility is vital in our walk. It shows that we can humbly come to God no matter our age. It’s us letting God know He’s the head of our life and He alone is in control. We are His servants and children. Just as a child respectively approaches an adult, in the same way, we are to approach our Heavenly Father.
Final Thoughts
While we go on living our lives here on earth, we are to remember that the real reward is heaven. Live every day as if it is our last. No one knows the time or hour, so we should live righteously in God’s way. In the end, I hope to see you guys in heaven. Reunited with our names found in the Lamb’s Book of Life, crowned and told, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
