It’s Alright

It’s alright not to have the words to describe how you’re feeling. Usually, when people ask me how I am doing, I say good, bad, happy, sad.. depending on what’s going on. Sometimes I don’t have a direct answer. These past 2 months I have been feeling all 4 of those emotions. Life is crazy for me right now, and I just don’t have the words. I feel a bit overwhelmed so I haven’t even been able to upload podcast videos.

It’s alright to put yourself first. We are to be selfless because that shows good morals and character, but in my opinion, sometimes you have to put yourself first. If you aren’t alright mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually, you cannot pour into others. If you try to, all you’ll do is give a little. It is alright to put yourself and your needs first. Times are changing, and in this day and age, self-maintenance is necessary.

It’s alright to let go. In this case, it is alright to let go of people, relationships, jobs, or whatever/whoever else is draining you. A lot of people fear being alone, and others fear letting people down, but you should never be a people pleaser. I have never been a people pleaser. It’s just not who I am. Although I respect certain people, I don’t look for validation from anyone but God. Sometimes you have to let go. It may hurt for a while or you may feel guilt, but letting go can also bring you peace and joy.

I hope that this week brings you a lot of joy. Remember that it’s alright to feel, to put yourself first for once, and to let go. After all, we need you to be your best self if you’re going to pour into others. Have a good week!
