Homosexuality. Let’s Talk About it

The enemy has succeeded in keeping many believers from talking about homosexuality. Whenever people speak on this topic, they receive all kinds of hell from every angle. I have nothing to lose speaking on this topic. Only souls to gain for God. That battle will not be between me and you but between you and God.

  • God will curse those who curse me (Genesis 12:3
  • God will be an enemy to my enemies and an adversary to my adversaries (Exodus 23:22
  • No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against me in judgment I shall condemn.

“This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17

Take it up with Him. Let’s begin…

IN THE BEGINNING

In Genesis chapter 1, we learn about God’s purpose for humanity. “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it…” (Genesis 1:27-28). Chapter 2 goes into detail about humanity’s creation, beginning with Adam (Genesis 2:5-7). Then God says, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him” (Genesis 2:18). Afterward, his wife is created (Genesis 2:20-25). In chapter 3, Adam names her Eve (Genesis 3:20). We must discuss these two because they were the first humans created. He intentionally made one man and one woman so they could be fruitful and multiply, having dominion.

The issue is, how can two men or two women multiply? By God’s design, they cannot. God does everything by order and in order. Two men or two women can’t reproduce. That would be out of order. This is not to focus on reproduction but to focus on the fact that one man and one woman were God’s intentional design.

SATANS PLAN FOR MAN AND WOMAN

We just learned about God’s plan for man and woman. Now, let’s talk about Satan’s plan for man and woman. Satan, God’s adversary and the adversary of God’s followers, has always wanted to do things opposite of God. “Satan” means accuser, adversary, and “to oppose.” Since God intended for a man to be with a woman, then it is clear that Satan would oppose that idea, normalizing man for man or woman for woman. Anything that Satan does will contradict God’s Word and will for humanity.

ABOMINATION

Many are familiar with the verse “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination” (Leviticus 18:22). Related verses include (Leviticus 20:13, Deuteronomy 22:5, and 1 Kings 14:24). The problem I have with many believers is when they call homosexuals abominations. God does not call homosexuals an abomination. He calls homosexuality an abomination. So, believers, stop calling homosexuals abominations. There are other sin verses in the Bible that God calls an abomination. For example:

  • “Lying lips” is an abomination (Proverbs 12:22).
  • “Justifying the wicked or condemning the righteous” is an abomination (Proverbs 17:15).
  • “Everyone arrogant in heart” is an abomination (Proverbs 16:5).

This next one is extreme:

“If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination” (Proverbs 28:9).

Here’s another:

“There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers” (Proverbs 6:16-19).

Other verses about abominations are, (Proverbs 15:8, Deuteronomy 23:18, Isaiah 1:13, Luke 16:15, Ezekiel 22:11). There are many I didn’t include.

Interestingly, some of these verses don’t call the act an abomination but rather the person. A lot of you believers resonate with these scriptures, so be careful when you slander homosexuals. God’s Word is to be shared in a gentle-loving manner (Galatians 6:1, Ephesians 4:15).

THE RAINBOW

In Genesis chapter 6, we learn that God sees wickedness/corruption in humanity and regrets creating them. God decides to blot out all humanity, animals, and creatures. All but Noah, who was righteous and blameless (Genesis 6:5-9). God instructs Noah to build an ark and warns him that He’s about to flood the Earth to destroy all flesh (Genesis 6:17). “But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female” (Genesis 6:18-19). The flood continued for forty days, and the waters prevailed on Earth for 150 days. “But God remembered Noah… and the waters subsided” (Genesis 8:1-5).

“I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow (rainbow) in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth” (Genesis 9:9-17).

A man named Gilbert Baker created the rainbow flag, urged by Harvey Milk (an American politician). The original colors were hot pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, indigo, and violet. Due to production issues, the pink and turquoise stripes were removed, and the indigo was replaced with blue.

The rainbow is a beautiful reminder that God will never flood the earth again. However, Satan has mocked and tainted its original purpose.

PRIDE

Homosexuals use “pride” as a slogan. On June 28, 1969, police raided a gay bar in New York called “The Stonewall Inn.” There was a series of events, exceeding six days, between police and protestors. It became known as the “Stonewall Uprising.” Pride month started a year after the riot in June of 1970. At the time, it was called the “Christopher Street Liberation Day March.” Before the Stonewall movement, there was even the “Homophile Movement.” The origin of the “Pride” slogan came from a man by the name of Craig Schoonmaker, a member and activist. He said,

“We were going to create a number of events the same weekend as the march to bring in people out of town, and wanted to unite the events under a label. First thought was ‘Gay Power’. I didn’t like that, so proposed gay pride. There’s very little chance for people in the world to have power. People did not have power then; even now, we only have some. But anyone can have pride in themselves, and that would make them happier as people, and produce the movement likely to produce change.”  – Craig Schoonmaker

It was because of pride that Satan was cast out of heaven, symbolically described in (Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:12-18).

“Pride goes before destruction And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he” (Proverbs 16:18-20).

Being arrogant about sin doesn’t do much good. Pride itself destroys character.

DISTRACTIONS

Satan’s plan is to keep believers and unbelievers in sinful bondage and drag them down with him. The disputes going on in the world between heterosexuals and homosexuals are just a distraction. Satan doesn’t care about you or your sexuality; he’s only after your soul. Sin makes you fall into the trap of the enemy. Even the topic of homosexuality brings about confusion, strife, anger, envy, slander, division, lies, lust, shame, hate, suicide, and murder. I get that people want equality and love, but sin only circles back to Satan, who is the opposite of those things.

“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).

Believers and unbelievers who hate homosexuals should consider this verse,

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12

You are hating the homosexuals and not the sin. We are to hate sin, not the sinner. Jesus sat with sinners. He wasn’t justifying their sin but teaching his Father’s will and way. If no one received it, he left. “And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town” (Matthew 10:14). The Bible does not say to shove the truth down their throats or force them to believe. Only Jesus sets sinners free, but that sinner has to want it for themselves.

FINAL POINT

God always provides a way of escape from sin. The decision is up to you. If you carelessly choose to continue in sin, God will give you over to a reprobate mind. Meaning he will give you over to your sin.

“For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done” (Romans 1:25-28).

Homosexuals quit slandering other homosexuals who want to come to Christ. If that person wants to give up that lifestyle, they don’t need you to make them feel bad about their decision. You are no better than believers who condemn. It is scary how sensitive the world is becoming. Stop giving people so much power over your emotions. It feels like the whole world is being forced to tip-toe around every little thing.

Those of you wanting to receive deliverance, pray to God about it. Find a trustworthy, loving source in ministry to help you through the deliverance process. They should also hold you accountable. If any believers make you uncomfortable or cause you to feel unloved, find others, like RISE, who are here for you. No follower of Christ should ever make you feel inhuman. You are human and loved, and you are not an abomination. As for “your truth,” there is only one truth,

“Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6
